Scratchiti & Dirt

Since the MTA & city took a hardline against graffiti in the '90s (it now gets washed off soon after it's created) people have taken to scratching marks into windows of subways & trains..."scratchiti."It really blocks your view...it also might be nice if the MTA actually washed the windows once in awhile.

My Oeuvre is Killing Me
Dia Beacon describes itself in it's floor plan pamphlet as "one of the world's most distinguished collections of contemporary art."This is, of course, open to debate.
All I know for sure is that the descriptions accompanying each exhibit have the world's most distinguished, numerous & creative use of the word "oeuvre."
Seriously. Apparently EVERY artist at the Dia Beacon has an important, far-reaching, personal, and/or challenging "oeuvre." Must be when you get an MFA in Art you have to prove you know a myriad of cleaver ways to use the word "oeuvre." Because...it isn't merely your "work"...it's your "oeuvre."
Oh, they don't allow photography in the building so I took a picture of the front walkway.
I think the grass lends itself nicely to the general timbre of my oeuvre.
Taking a trip on the Hudson Line

Beacon is being slowly innundated with galleries & antique shops & all sorts of candle/incense/buddha shops that cater to daytrippers from New York...like me.

Messy Contest
I was thinking of entering a messiest closet contest on the "Apartment Therapy" website:http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/
I think I might be a contender. Maybe?

Not so Hot-lanta

The only good thing I can say about my trip to Atlanta is that I got an exit row on the flight down...it all went downhill from there. It seems that Continental left my luggage back in Newark. Try finding a shop to buy clean underwear in downtown Atlanta. The only thing for sale? Fried Chicken. The Marriott Marquis decor seems to have been modeled on the 70s film Logan's Run.
And yet again...a fantastic view from my hotel room! An empty office building.
Protests

Some views of the April 29th protests in NY. Lots of flags of every variety. A man dressed up as Captain America perched from a balcony but I didn't get a good shot of him. If you squint you can see him on the 3rd floor of the yellow building. The crowd cheered every time he brandished his Captain America shield...
