I am Against Eyeball Surgery

My eyeball.

Recently I was told that I was allergic to the preservatives in most contact lens solutions. Lasik surgery was offered up as an alternative. Wouldn't that be great? No glasses.

Now, I am suspicious of most elective surgery and procedures. When I went to have a silver filling replaced in my molar with a nice white filling (partially, I admit, for vanity's sake) I wound up having to get a ROOT CANAL. So therefore, vanity = pain.

I am happy to report that my suspicions are confirmed on some level from an article I found today in the NY Times.

And I really believe the article because the author of the piece is someone I went to college with. So it goes without saying she is super smart.
